I have Macrium Reflect Pro for this but have never checked to see if it works. It's a good idea to keep a list of software keys where you can find them before you need to make the transfer.Ī "bare metal restore" with a proper imaging program might make more sense, although it would also install the operating system and you might have driver problems. The vast majority of other programs transfer and work fine. It is important to note that Microsoft products almost never transfer from old to new. I'll continue to buy it every time I get a new PC. The Laplink program is reasonably priced for all the work it does for you. You need to have the program installed on both PCs, so unless you have your new PC ready to go today, this isn't going to help. I'm sure that the EaseUS Todo program is very similar in capabilities and limitations. I've had experience with Laplink PCmover Ultimate in moving most applications from old to new PCs. And I bet there are very few of those going to be available in just one day. I am aware of course that the pool from which to expect any kind of "user experience" feedback is going to be remarkably small in this case, as you basically have to be ready with another "empty" computer (hard disk) just WAITING to do a transfer. In fact, since there have been so much negative feedback, is there anyone out there who has had remarkable SUCCESS with the programme - where everything got transferred, including all their GOTD programmes?īecause of course probably most of us are particularly interested in that, as we CANNOT go back and reinstall our GOTD programmes later - we don't even have an effective registration number. Of course that SHOULDN'T happen.īut can anyone assure us that it didn't/hasn't?

I was HOPING to install programmes from my older Win7 computer onto this Win7 computer, with hopefully also NO loss of any programmes on THIS machine, which is my main computer.īut now I worry that with something that does not seem terribly reliable (unusual for EaseUS) either I will find I can't get it to install on the older machine, or if I do, nothing will transfer from there - or worst of all possibly, I find I actually LOSE some of my GOTD programmes on this computer. I mean, these GOTD offers are not supposed to be "hobbled" in any way, so they should "just WORK", as they say. There seems to be so many people having problems with installing the programme on TWO computers - and after all, it ain't no good on just ONE - I wonder if it is really very useful.
